Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Previous research has identified numerous risk and protective factors of adolescent problematic gaming (PG) at the individual and social levels; however, the influence of socio-economic indicators on PG is less known. This study aimed to measure the contribution of individual and socio-economic factors involved in PG risk among adolescents from 30 European countries.Entities:

The final model was as follows: PG = β0j + β1j × (gender) + β2j × (gaming hours) + β3j × (parental regulation) + β4j × (parental monitoring) ++ β5j × (family support) + β6j × (family economic status) + β7j × (family structure), β0j = γ00 + γ01 × (Gini) + γ02 × (family/children benefits) + γ03 × (families with internet) + u0j. SE = standard error; OR = odds ratio; CI = confidence interval; GDP = gross domestic product.
Individual random‐effects tests examine hypotheses about whether the variance for each random intercept or slope (and their covariances) are significantly different from zero [45].
