Abstract
BACKGROUND: Modern research is heavily reliant on online and mobile technologies, which is particularly true among historically hard-to-reach populations such as gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM). Despite this, very little empirical research has been published on participant perspectives about issues such as privacy, trust, and data sharing.Entities:

Within-person comparisons of trust to guard the privacy of personal information reported as ηpartial2 effect sizes. Results are reported as ηpartial2 effect sizes for the difference between the two means adjusted for demographic covariates (eg, unadjusted means, medians, and standard deviations are presented in the far right columns to ease interpretation of the comparisons). Response options ranged from 1 (not at all trusting) to 4 (very trusting).

Willingness to share various data types with researchers and within-person comparisons between each reported as ηpartial2 effect sizes. Results are reported as ηpartial2 effect sizes for the difference between the two means adjusted for demographic covariates (eg, unadjusted means, medians, and standard deviations are presented in the far right columns to ease interpretation of the comparisons). Responses ranged from 1 (definitely not) to 4 (definitely).
