Histological description of advanced neoplastic lesions
| Variable | Number of lesions | Dysplasia (if applicable) | Size |

| Cancers | 53 | ≥ 10 mm; | |
| Advanced adenomas: | 490 | 432 LGD 58 HGD | ≥ 10 mm; |

Anatomical distribution of advanced neoplastic lesions among patients
| Anatomical location | Total number of patients | Number of patients with cancer (Ca) | Number of patients with advanced adenoma (AA) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cecum | 32 | 1: | 31: |
| Ascending colon | 45 | 6: | 40: |
| Hepatic flexure | 17 | 1: | 16: |
| Transverse colon | 41 | 2: | 39: |
| Lienal flexure | 5 | 1: | 4: |
| Descending colon | 36 | 3: | 33: |
| Sigmoid colon | 214 | 20: | 195: |
| Rectum | 115 | 19: | 96: |
Ca – carcinoma, AA – advanced adenoma. The values of 133 (167) patients with proximal advanced neoplasia do not strictly correspond to the sum of values in the appropriate anatomical locations due to the coexistence of lesions in different anatomical locations (see Results).
In 5 patients Ca was found as a single lesion, in 1 patient Ca coexisted with four AA. The total number of patients with advanced neoplastic lesion(s) in the cecum is 45.
In 19 patients Ca was a single lesion, in 1 patient Ca coexisted with 2 AA in this location. The total number of patients with advanced neoplastic lesion(s) in the sigmoid colon was 214
