The concentration of total amino acid are the result of an amino acid analysis conducted in duplicate. Values for SID concentrations of amino acid for the diets were estimated using SID coefficients for the various ingredients provided by NRC [6].
Peanut meal provided 1.55% lysine, 1.78% valine, 1.40% isoleucine, and 2.83% leucine.
Vitamin and mineral premix provided the following per kg of diet: vitamin A, 12,000 IU as vitamin A acetate; vitamin D, 2,500 IU as vitamin D3; vitamin E, 30 IU as dl-α-tocopheryl acetate; 12 μg of vitamin B12; vitamin K, 3 mg as menadione sodium bisulfate; d-pantothenic acid, 15 mg as calcium pantothenate; 40 mg of nicotinic acid; choline, 400 mg as choline chloride; Mn, 30 mg as manganese oxide; Zn, 80 mg as zinc oxide; Fe, 90 mg as iron sulfate; Cu, 10 mg as copper sulfate; I, 0.35 mg as ethylene diamine dihydroiodide; and Se, 0.3 mg as sodium selenite.
Digestible energy, calcium and phosphorus content of the diets were calculated using values for the ingredients obtained from NRC [6].
