Abstract
BACKGROUND: A real-time clinical decision support system (RTCDSS) with interactive diagrams enables clinicians to instantly and efficiently track patients' clinical records (PCRs) and improve their quality of clinical care. We propose a RTCDSS to process online clinical informatics from multiple databases for clinical decision making in the treatment of prostate cancer based on Web Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, by which the system can easily be adapted to different diseases and applications.Entities:

Risk Evaluations for Prostate Cancer
| Risk group | Risk factors | Risk (a, b, c)% |
|---|---|---|
| Low | T1c or T2a and PSA <= 10 ng/ml and Gleason score <= 6 | (< 25, 85, 83) |
| Intermediate | T2b or Gleason score = 7 or PSA > 10 and <= 20 ng/ml | (25-50, 60, 46) |
| High | T2c or PSA > 20 ng/ml or Gleason score >= 8 | (> 50, 30, 29) |
a. Post-therapy PSA failure at 5 yrs; b. PSA failure-free survival at 5 yrs;
c. PSA failure-free survival at 10 yrs
