Comparison of magnetic resonance imaging and multidetector computed tomography for evaluating intraductal tumor extension of breast cancer.

Takayoshi Uematsu1.

Abstract

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) can be used for pretreatment evaluation of intraductal tumor extension of breast cancer. Images of intraductal tumor extension obtained by MRI and multidetector CT (MDCT) are shown to illustrate the similarities and differences in the imaging features of these two techniques. MRI is an excellent tool and MDCT is a fair one for evaluating intraductal tumor extension of breast cancer.
