[Femur revision prosthesis].

H Wagner1, M Wagner.

Abstract

Aseptic loosening of total hip prostheses leads to increasing bone resorption. The extensive bone loss often does not allow a reliable stem implantation in the former prosthetic bed. An uncemented femoral revision prosthesis is presented which bridges the damaged bone and is firmly anchored in the diaphysis. Without bone-grafting postoperatively a vigorous bone regeneration begins at the former bone defects.
