Abstract
BACKGROUND: With the implementation of health care reforms in China, primary care is on a journey to provide care for most patients with type 2 diabetes. While Chinese general practitioners (GPs) have described challenges in communication with diabetes patients in their daily practice, little is known about patients' experiences in communicating with their GPs.Entities:

Focus group discussion guide for GPs
1. Prompts for facilitators. • How did you feel when you were first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes? • What is important for you to be able to live as good a life as possible with diabetes? • Do you get the opportunity to ask questions relevant to diabetes with your GPs? • What is your experience and feeling when communicating with doctors both in hospitals and general practices? • Are there any difficulties in communicating with your GPs? • Do you like your GPs? Explain. • Do you trust your GPs? Explain. • Among the different doctors you visit, which one did you think gave you a better experience? • What do you think doctors can do to enhance communication or relationship with you during consultations? • Is there anything else about the physician/patient relationship that you want to share? |
