| People with DM reported that they prefer a treatment that generates benefits in those parameters with short-/medium-term consequences, such as blood pressure reduction without risk of hypoglycaemia and reduction of HbA1c level |
| Further research is needed to address whether considering patients' preferences has impact on the outcomes. Additionally, patients should be incorporated in the process of designing diabetes protocols and guidelines |
