Abbreviations: COPD, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; IQR, interquartile range; SMD, standardized mean difference; THA, total hip arthroplasty.
Overall, 756 patients (0.57%) had missing race/ethnicity, and 35 (0.03%) had missing insurance.
Other included American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, and Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.
The International Statistical Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision diagnosis codes used to identify comorbidities are listed in eTable 1 in the Supplement.
Data are from 2014 to 2018 in New York and from 2013 to 2017 in California; the SMD was based on rank statistics.
