Figure 1.Etiologies of spinal deformity in 299 patients who underwent 3-column osteotomy. Acquired deformities include degenerative or idiopathic kyphoscoliosis. Iatrogenic deformities include postlaminectomy kyphosis and deformity secondary to instrumentation failure. Other causes include ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile osteochondrosis, and other/unknown causes.
