Abstract
BACKGROUND: Inadequate description of non-pharmacological complex interventions in trial publications means that they cannot be replicated or assessed for generalisability. There are published guidelines on how to describe an intervention, such as those from the CONSORT Group. However, there have been few evaluations of whether intervention reporting is improving.Entities:

The Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) extension statement for non-pharmacological treatments: items specific to intervention description and its implementation
| When applicable, eligibility criteria for centres and those performing the interventions | |
| Precise details of both the experimental treatment and comparator | |
| Description of the different components of the interventions and, when applicable, descriptions of the procedure for tailoring the interventions to individual participants | |
| Details of how the interventions were standardized | |
| Details of how adherence of care providers with the protocol was assessed or enhanced |
