Fig. 1The first measurement is a result of a line drawn through the axis of the femoral neck and referenced to the horizontal. The next measurement is a second line drawn tangential to the posterior aspect of the femoral condyles, and again referenced to the horizontal. Subtracting the distal angle from the proximal angle gives the final femoral version calculation
