Abstract
Metal ions Cu, Zn and Fe, seem to play a pivotal role in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. In order to understand this in a broader sense, one has to considerer the peculiarities of metal metabolism in the brain compared to most other tissues, as well as the importance of the redox active metal ions, Fe and Cu, in oxygen metabolism and the connected oxidative stress.Entities:
