Abstract
BACKGROUND: Dyspepsia is among the most common complaints evaluated by gastroenterologists, but there are few studies examining its current epidemiology, evaluation, and costs. We examined these issues in a large managed care system in the Southwestern United States.Entities:

All differences between cases and controls were significant (p < .001), based on chi-square test for frequencies and proportions, and Student's t-test for means except for NSAID and Cox-2 inhibitor use for index + 7 days (p > .05), and any hospitalization for index + 7 days (p = .002).
