Abstract
BACKGROUND: Preeclampsia (PE) is a multi-causal disease characterized by the development of hypertension and proteinuria in the second half of pregnancy. Multiple risk factors have been associated with the development of PE. Moreover, it is known that these risk factors vary between populations from developed and developing countries. The aim of this study is to identify which risk factors are associated with the development of preeclampsia (PE) among Colombian women.Entities:

BMI: body mass index; HDL: high-density lipoprotein; LDL: low-density lipoprotein; PE: preeclampsia. Reference group: Healthy pregnant controls. An OR greater than 1 indicates a greater likelihood of having the factor than the reference group while an OR under 1 indicates a lesser likelihood of the factor than the reference group.
