Abstract
BACKGROUND: Identification of the target proteins of bioactive compounds is critical for elucidating the mode of action; however, target identification has been difficult in general, mostly due to the low sensitivity of detection using affinity chromatography followed by CBB staining and MS/MS analysis.Entities:

Figure 2Experimental verification by biotinylated incednine pull-down assay. Lysates from Ms-1 overexpressing Bcl-xL were incubated with biotin (Biotin) or biotinylated incednine (BI) and avidin beads for 3 h. The beads were washed, and co-precipitated proteins were eluted with 2 mM biotin. The eluted proteins were subjected to western blotting using the indicated antibodies. “Positive candidates” means proteins which were predicted to bind to incednine, and “Negative candidates” means proteins which were predicted not to bind to incednine.
