Abstract
HIV-infected persons are at heightened risk for recurrent community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) infections, but there are limited data regarding the molecular characterization of these events. We describe an HIV-infected patient with 24 soft tissue infections and multiple colonization events. Molecular genotyping from 33 nonduplicate isolates showed all strains were USA300, Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) and arginine catabolic mobile element (ACME) positive, and genetically related.Entities:
