Abstract
Thirty-seven species of medicinal plants used in folk phytotherapy were chemically screened for alkaloids, coumarins, flavonoids, anthraquinones, saponins, sterols and/or triterpenes and tannins. Seven of these were also screened for the presence of mutagenic activity using the Ames test (Salmonella/microsome).Entities:
