Do current sequence analysis algorithms disclose multifunctional (moonlighting) proteins?

Abstract

SUMMARY: A number of multifunctional, 'moonlighting', proteins have been analyzed by different current programs to test whether they identify both functions. PSI-BLAST and PRODOM perform best in predicting the alternative function.
