Abstract
It is generally believed that properly constructed high ratio grids are very efficient in removing radiographic scatter. The authors show that grids inherently transmit substantial amounts of contrast-degrading scatter and suggest a better method of eliminating it. A system of moving paired slits produces radiographic images with higher contrast than do grids at the same tube voltage. The diagnostic implications are discussed.Mesh:
