Abstract
This article summarizes methods for the chemical synthesis and biophysical characterization of gramicidins with varying sequences and labels. The family of gramicidin channels has developed into a powerful model system for understanding fundamental properties, interactions, and dynamics of proteins and lipids generally, and ion channels specifically, in biological membranes.Entities:
