Abstract
In the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, heterochromatin-like regions are formed at the silent mating type loci and at telomeres. The past year of investigations has led to a clearer understanding of the nature of nucleation and spreading of heterochromatin, as well as uncovering a fascinating link between silencing, the nucleolus and aging.Entities:
