Abstract
Procedures are described for the extraction and analysis of carotenoid pigments from human tissues and plasma. The method allows resolution of many polar pigments, including several such compounds more polar than zeaxanthin. While the method requires two separate HPLC runs when applied to tissues containing significant quantities of triglyceride, the additional information made available on the polar carotenoid composition of such samples is substantial.Entities:
