Abstract
The leucine-responsive regulatory protein (Lrp) is the regulator of the recently discovered leucine/Lrp regulon in Escherichia coli. Like other global regulators, it regulates the expression of 35 or more specific target operons. Studies of this global response have led to the suggestion that Lrp--and perhaps some other gene regulators--may also participate in the maintenance of chromosome structure and organization.Entities:
