Targeted interventions. Use of the mini-mental state exam.

B Agostinelli, K Demers, D Garrigan, C Waszynski.

Abstract

1. The most successful care is targeted to address each client's unique abilities, disabilities, needs, and concerns. 2. It often is difficult for nurses to obtain valid, objective data concerning clients' specific levels of function. 3. The Mini-Mental State Exam can be used to assess function and target specific behavioral and environmental interventions to compensate for deficits and reinforce strengths.
