Abstract
In many organisms, glucose represses genes that are used to metabolize other carbon sources. Work in yeast and filamentous fungi has revealed a mechanism for glucose repression in eukaryotes that is different from that found in bacteria. Zinc finger proteins, such as Mig1 and CREA, that bind GC-boxes play a key role in mediating this response.Entities:
