Abstract
The mechanism proposed for the activation of animal acetyl-coenzyme A (CoA) carboxylase by alpha-glycerophosphate, namely, the removal of inhibitory palmityl-CoA via glyceride synthesis, is not the only possible one in the yeast system because extracts exhibiting marked stimulation of acetyl-CoA carboxylase activity by alpha-glyerophosphate show a lack of acyl-CoA compounds.Entities:
