[Health promotion initiatives aimed at young adults. Qualitative study].

Abstract

Introduction: Introduction. Health promotion initiatives, even more those promoted by the State, play a fundamental and strategic role in the construction of healthy lifestyles. The objective was to explore from the perspective of a group of young adults from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, dimensions and qualitative categories related to health promotion community initiatives with a focus on healthy diet, physical activity, and smoking cessation.
Methods: A qualitative phenomenological study were conducted, including sixteen in-depth interviews with people under 40 years of age.
Results: Were found and explored that interventions through websites, email, social networks, application- Mobile App (App), calls, text messages (SMS), printed material, or brief advice. The most acceptable interventions were: website, social networks, and the App. The potential use of these interventions would be related by the inclusion of audiovisual elements and personalized messages.
Conclusion: The findings indicate that interventions that include social networks, App and web would have greater potential among young adults to promote healthy lifestyles. Universidad Nacional de Córdoba.
