Abstract
Background: Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is the single major cause of death in hemodialysis (HD) patients. QRS-T angle is an established marker of global repolarization heterogeneity associated with electrical instability and SCD. Heat shock protein 27 (HSP27) plays an important, protective role against noxious factors in the cardiovascular (CV) system. This study is aimed at assessing whether low HSP27 is associated with myocardial inhomogeneities in HD patients, as expressed by increases in the spatial QRS-T angle.Entities:
