Abstract
BACKGROUND: Arterial hypertension (HTN) is common among morbidly obese patients undergoing bariatric surgery. The aim of this study is to analyse the prevalence and evolution of HTN and weight loss in patients suffering from morbid obesity before and after bariatric surgery, during a follow-up period of five years.Entities:

Figure 1Changes in blood pressure, percentage of excess weight loss, and percentage of body mass index loss during the follow-up period in hypertensive and normotensive patients. The p-values in the figure correspond to the differences between groups in the different periods. The bars show a standard error. A repeated measures model has been applied.
