Banding is the National Health Service, UK Agenda for Change system for equal pay of work for equal value for non‐medical and dental roles. The banding depends on role, years of experience, qualification and seniority and management responsibility. Newly qualified nurses start at band 5 level and band 8 is matron or management level.
