Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Cholesterol levels have been associated with age-related cognitive decline, however, such an association has not been comprehensively explored in people with Parkinson's disease (PD). To address this uncertainty, the current cross-sectional study examined the cholesterol profile and cognitive performance in a cohort of PD patients.Entities:

FIGURE 1Comparison of serum marker levels between males and females in a Parkinson’s disease (PD) cohort. Mean TC (A), LDL (B), and HDL (C) levels were significantly higher in females than males, mean TRG (D) levels were not significantly different. Data are presented as mean ± SEM. *p < 0.05; ***p < 0.001. TC, total cholesterol; LDL, low-density lipoprotein; HDL, high-density lipoprotein; TRG, triglyceride.
