Abstract
We describe 4 children (11-17 years in age) at our institution with acute appendicitis in the setting of SARS-CoV-2 infection, suggesting a possible association. Providers should consider testing for this infection in patients with severe gastrointestinal symptoms, in order to take appropriate transmission based precautions, until more is understood.Entities:

Fig. 1a) Patient 1. Axial contrast enhanced CT of the pelvis demonstrates a dilated fluid filled appendix (A); surrounding fat stranding (FS) is seen consistent with edema and acute inflammation. b) Patient 2. Axial contrast enhanced CT of the pelvis demonstrates a dilated fluid filled appendix (A) with a calcified (C) appendicolith inside; surrounding fat stranding (FS) is seen consistent with edema and acute inflammation. c) Patient 3. Axial contrast enhanced CT of the pelvis demonstrates a dilated fluid filled appendix (A). Surrounding fat stranding (FS) is seen consistent with edema and acute inflammation. d) Patient 4. Axial contrast enhanced CT of the pelvis demonstrates a dilated fluid filled appendix (A). Surrounding fat stranding (FS) is seen consistent with edema and acute inflammation.
