Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIMS: The length of colon is known to be longer in females than in males. In addition, the morphology of colon cancer is different between males and females. The aim of this study was to investigate sex differences in Boston bowel preparation score (BBPS) and colonoscopy insertion time.Entities:

BBPS, Boston bowel preparation score.
p < 0.05 was statistically significant.
Patients with BBPS scores of 2 or 3 for all colon segments.
Figure 1.Comparison of Boston bowel preparation scale between (A) male and (B) female depending on colon segment (ascending, transverse, and descending colon). Total Boston bowel preparation scale was significantly higher in female than male (p = 0.001). However, there was no significant difference in each segmental score.
