Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate functional outcomes and complications between the standard RSA and BIO-RSA. 65 consecutive procedures were performed in 60 patients (40 BIO-RSA and 25 RSA). There was no statistically significant difference in functional outcome, pain and complications. The BIO-RSA can produce comparable, if not better functional results than a standard RSA whilst reducing the rates of scapula notching, prosthesis instability, lost shoulder rotation and poor shoulder contour. It should therefore be considered in all patients presenting with cuff tear arthropathy, massive rotator cuff tear and fracture sequelae.Entities:
