Abstract

Although the da Vinci robot system has garnered much attention in the realm of surgery over the past few decades, several new surgical robotic systems have been developed for spinal surgery with varying levels of robot autonomy and surgeon-specified input. These devices are currently being considered as potential avenues for increasing the precision of any surgical intervention. The following review will attempt to provide an overview of robotics in modern spine surgery and how these devices will continue to be employed in various sectors across the field. 2019 Annals of Translational Medicine.
