The multivariable linear regression model tests of the differences between the subgroups of patients with specific characteristics were adjusted for all the other characteristics, while the type of hospital was adjusted as an additional confounder in the total group; the data from both survey rounds data were included in this analysis.
β represent the change in overall rating of the patient experience.
NCMS, New Cooperative Medical Scheme; OB/Gyn, obstetrics and gynaecology hospital; TCM, traditional Chinese medicine hospital; UEBMI, Urban Employee Basic Medical Insurance; URBMI, Urban & Rural Resident Basic Medical Insurance.

Multivariable linear regression models were adjusted for geographical region, gender, age, education, employment and health insurance coverage using the pooled data.
β represent the change in overall rating of the patient experience per one-point increase in each domain score.
