Abstract
INTRODUCTION: bonded fixed retainers are often used to stabilize the results obtained with the orthodontic treatment. It is important that they do not prejudice dental health, as they will be used for a long period.Entities:

Figure 1Research flow diagram: (a) Baseline - scaling and dental prophylaxis 15 days before starting use of the retainer. On day zero, the periodontal indexes had to be normal.
