On color Doppler images and corresponding microscopic pictures, the twinkling artifacts are visually scaled from 0 to 3 (from weak to strong). Numbers indicate diameters (in inch) of the guidewires. Guidewires with strong twinkling artifacts (score = 3) exhibit rough surfaces with scalloped contours whereas those with no or weak twinkling artifacts (score = 0 or 1) present smooth surfaces
