Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to determine the associations of the demographic variables of gender, state of legal residency, student age, and undergraduate major with scores on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) and the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) Step 1 and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge.Entities:

Notes:
“Traditional-aged” was defined as <25 years old and “Nontraditional-aged” as ≥25 years old.
Seventeen participants did not have a state of legal residency in the record. Their data are not included in analyses using that variable.
Abbreviations: MCAT, Medical College Admissions Test; MN, Minnesota; SD, standard deviation; CK, Clinical Knowledge; USMLE, United States Medical Licensing Exam.
Results of independent-samples t-tests comparing various demographic factors on MCAT and USMLE scores, for students pursuing MD (N = 1,062) and MD/PhD (N = 5) degrees at the University of Minnesota who matriculated between 2007 and 2011 and graduated between 2011 and 2015
