FIGURE 1.Recurrent hypoglycemia: treatment versus prevention. Initially hypoglycemia was treated reactively, with at least five recurrences of low blood glucose and high glycemic variability. With initiation of proactive IV dextrose, further hypoglycemia was prevented, and glycemic variability was reduced.
