Abstract
Breast cancer is the commonest cancer among women and leading cause of cancer related mortality worldwide. Locally advanced breast cancer is the common subgroup of breast cancer encountered in developing countries. The last decade witnessed the voluminous upsurge in the use of positron emission tomography-computed tomography. Its role has been evaluated in different aspects of breast cancer - diagnosing and staging the disease, assessing the therapeutic response to chemotherapy, and restaging the recurrent disease. The present review aims to delineate the current role of positron emission tomography-computed tomography in the management of locally advanced breast cancer, based on available literature.Entities:
