Figure 2BMI in childhood and risk of oesophageal adenocarcinoma in adulthood.The graph depicts associations between childhood BMI and the risk of being diagnosed with oesopahgeal adenocarcinoma in adulthood. Hazard ratios and 95% confidence intervals are given for a 1-unit increase in BMI z-score at each the age from 7 to 13 years. The data are from 255 053 children (128 330 boys) within the Copenhagen School Health Records Register. The associations were linear within each age, as determined from trend tests that rejected a nonlinear alternative.
