Men versus women.
Central obesity (defined as Wc ≥ 90 cm for men and ≥80 cm for women in Japan) and any two of the following four factors: 1) raised TG: ≥1.7 mmol/L; 2) reduced HDL: <1.03 mmol/L in men and <1.29 mmol/L in women; 3) raised blood pressure: systolic blood pressure ≥130 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥85 mmHg; 4) raised fasting plasma glucose ≥5.6 mmol/L.
