Abstract

Normotensive: systolic blood pressure <140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure <90 mmHg; hypertensive: systolic blood pressure >140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure 8805;90 mmHg or on hypertension medication (the Seventh Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure criterion) or any hypertension medication
Fasting blood glucose ≥7.0 mmol/l or on medication for diabetes
Modified version of the Adult Treatment Panel III diagnostic criteria using body mass index ≥30 kg/m2 instead of waist circumference
