Abstract
BACKGROUND: Vitamin D deficiency is associated with a variety of chronic metabolic diseases. Limited evidence regarding vitamin D deficiency exists within the Chinese population. The present study aims to examine the association between serum vitamin D concentrations and cardiometabolic risk factors in the young and middle-aged, urban Chinese populationEntities:

*Coefficients represent change in 25(OH)D (ng/ml) for an increase in the value of the predictor variables shown (1-SD increase for continuous predictor variables). The stepwise multivariable model was adjusted for the following variables: age, sex, BMI, waist circumference, fasting glucose, fasting insulin, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol. R2 for the regression model was 0.479, 0.472 and 0.564 for the whole population, men and women groups respectively.
