Abstract
BACKGROUND: Overweight and obesity during pregnancy raise the risk of gestational diabetes and birth complications. Lifestyle factors like physical activity may decrease these risks through beneficial effects on glucose homeostasis. Here we examined physical activity patterns and their relationships with measures of glucose homeostasis in late pregnancy compared to non-pregnant women.Entities:

R-values are Spearman correlation coefficients. All correlations partialled for age, PAEE additionally partialled for weight. Partial r2 are from multiple linear regressions including age, and for PAEE, age and weight as covariates. PAEE, physical activity energy expenditure; ISIOGTT, Matsuda composite insulin sensitivity index; DIO, oral disposition index. Bold text indicates a statistically significant (p < 0.05) correlation.
