Abstract
Training pigeons with random presentations of a tone and food proactively interferes with the acquisition of autoshaped keypecking to a lighted key. The interference effect is context-specific (observed only when testing for autoshaping occurs in the initial training environment). An interpretation based on blocking by background cues is suggested by the data.Entities:
