Abstract
The outcome of competition among three species of anuran tadpoles in replicated artificial pond communities depends on the density of predatory salamanders present in the community. Predators differentially affect the survival of anuran species to metamorphosis and reverse the pattern of anuran relative abundance resulting from interspecific competition among tadpoles in the absence of predators.Year: 1981 PMID: 17738837 DOI: 10.1126/science.212.4500.1284
